Come funziona

The Project focuses on supporting local farmers and other landowners living within the chimpanzee corridor region in Bunyoro, Uganda through an extensive tree planting initiative, providing technical support to raise the amount of cash crop revenues per acre for participating farmers, and providing community benefits. By doing so, the Project strives to promote forest and biodiversity conservation, afforestation and increases the capacity of residents to engage in the conservation of the environment. In particular, the region’s wild chimpanzees.The Bulindi Chimpanzee Habitat Restoration Project is set up to achieve 3 key objectives: 1. Increase tree coverage by planting trees on farmland through agroforestry by inter-planting indigenous tree species with cash crops. 2. Increase the revenues from the cash crops for the farmers on their lands, by providing technical support. 3. Provide community benefits and programs to the participating communities through cooperatives (co-ops).
